Let’s Get Personal
I really like playing on my keyboard. Going to Borders with my sister is a weekly event that I enjoy: I work on my business and she draws her web comic (I’m in it too! LOL). I tend to like buying books more than reading them, but I do read them… eventually! Ha Ha. I like watching old Disney movies, the ones that were made when they used to produce awesome music to go along with. I love eating with people I love. Actually, anything can be fun with my family and friends. I love listening to other people’s stories and jokes. I feel a sense of great satisfaction when I manage to make someone laugh (does not happen when I’m actually trying though). Learning is a crucial and thrilling part of my life and teaching others what I’ve learned is mad fun.
Once Upon A Time…
Growing up I was different and I knew it too. Let’s say… I was SLOW. I didn’t begin walking until I was 14 months old when average kids do by 12 months. I didn’t begin talking until I was 30 months old when average kids do by 24 months. From there and on I tended to be behind compared to my peers. But you know what my grandpa kept on saying to me and others since I was a baby?
“God has hidden His wisdom in you, Daye.”
It’s pretty OUTRAGEOUS, right? I mean, I was always the kid to finish last. The one who starts when everyone is already done. The one who asks questions when everyone has already answered them.
Too SLOW to act professional. But then again… why be boring?
My Deep Passion
So I thought maybe it’s because God has “hidden” it that I cannot see His wisdom in my life. Then my eyes fell on a brown book next to my bed. It was God’s Word, the Holy Bible. It was then I realized that God has revealed all the wisdom I need already in this book. It was only “hidden” because I did not take what was given.
Now, I’m no wise girl here, but let’s say I know the God who is. I don’t always pray as Jesus teaches. I don’t always read the bible as Jesus teaches. I don’t always forgive as Jesus teaches. I don’t always love as Jesus teaches. I am far from perfection to no surprise, but He is my CORNERSTONE of both my personal and professional lives. It is my deep passion and desire to worship Him, even with my business:
- Through the way I treat others.
- Through the way I teach.
- Through the way I share.
- Through the way I take responsibilities.
- Through the way I communicate.
- Through the way I lead.
It is absolutely amazing how God can take my weakness and turn them into my strengths. Throughout my life, He taught me to be diligent and patient (still learning though LOL). He also blessed me with loving people like my grandpa. They taught me what it is to encourage, give hope to, and believe in others. And most of all, He placed compassion in my heart for those who are behind as I used to be. When I see someone in a tough spot, I feel more drawn to them because I know that they need someone who cares.
